யாகசாலை அமைப்பதற்கு ஆகம விதிப்படி சிவாச்சாரியார்களின் வழிகாட்டுதலுடன், மூலவருக்கு வடகிழக்கு மூலையில் (ஈசாணி) இடம் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டு சுடாத பச்சை செங்கற்களை கொண்டு பச்சை மண்ணால் பிசைந்து கும்பாபிஷேகம் முடிந்த மழையில் கரையுமாறு கட்டப்படுகிறது.
மேலும் யாகசாலையை வர்ணங்கள் மற்றும் கலர் பேப்பர்களால் அழகு படுத்தப்பட்டு அதில் யாக குண்டங்கள் வளர்த்து இறைவனுக்கு பூஜை செய்கின்றனர்.
இதில் முப்பது முக்கோடி தேவர்களும் கலந்து கொண்டு இறைவனம் பலம் பெற வேண்டி கொள்வதாக ஐதீகம் கூறுகின்றது.
